Hello! My name is Jimmy Lin. I am from Shanghai, China. After graduating from the University of Victoria with a bachelor of Computer Science Degree, I attended a nine-week Web Development Bootcamp by Lighthouse Labs. During boot camp, I learned not only the technologies to build a full-stack web app but also finished multiple projects in a small group environment using Git.
I have two years of hands-on experience efficiently coding websites and applications using modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. As a web developer at ScopeMedia Inc, I worked closely with our senior developer and product manager, to design, build and maintain three Shopify applications using React.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. I also utilized the Shopify design system to create a seamless experience for all of Shopify’s merchants. These applications were featured in Shopify’s recommendation post and achieved high customer appreciation within 6 months. Working in a startup company, I was able to transform CEO’s ideation into a demo application within a limited time of notice when investors paid a visit,
Building state-of-the-art, easy to use, user-friendly websites and applications is truly a passion of mine and I am confident I would be an excellent addition to your organization. In addition to my knowledge base, I actively seek out new technologies and stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements. Include taking online React.js courses, reading tech blog posts and taking code challenges. This has allowed me to stay ahead of the curve and deliver exceptional work to my employer in an Agile development environment.
